Villages
seen by the week,
a project by photographer Kristel Schneider, is
a photographic record of 17 villages in the Val
D’Allier. Each village will be photographically
recorded, at different times of the day. Kristel will
walk en talk around in the different villages to capture
images that represent each different village. The
project will start in the beginning of March 2009.
Kristel
Schneider
is Dutch and a freelance photographer and communication
advisor. She moved to the Auvergne one year ago to focus
more on photography. To get her work known by a bigger
audience in the Auvergne she is developing some
photography projects. One of the projects is Villages
seen by the week.
The villages that will be part of the project are
based on the existing brochure 17 villages à découvrir
dans le lembron published by Communauté de
Communes Lembron Val d’Allier. The
main goal of this project is to promote the different
villages through the eye of the camera with input from
local people.
‘The
question I like to have answered is how people will
react on a one-week photographer’ says Kristel Schneider
and what is in their eyes the image that represent there
village’.
An overview of the weekly record Villages seen by the week,
will be shown on the Kristel Schneider Photography
website (www.kristelschneiderphotography.com)
and regularly images are published on her Photo Blog so
that people can give there reactions and feedback. At
the end of the project Kristel Schneider will organize
an exposition of the best images from all villages.
Location and opening date will be published later.
